ABOUT ELISE
Elise is a medical intuitive and healing sage who believes that a practitioner needs to be committed to doing their own inner work, to truly be of service to others. My philosophy is that working with the body is like hearing a new beautiful song and it requires deep listening. I consider myself a body detective.
Guiding people to better understand and listen to what their body needs in order to heal and address the root cause of imbalances and dis-ease, is my greatest passion and have been my biggest lessons in life.
Functional Medicine Therapy is the foundational approach I use. Functional medicine reveals what imbalances we need to address, to help bring your body back to homeostasis. I use a mind-body approach, which combines physical, mental, and emotional work. By including the whole person, we can bring awareness to the process, and uncover and re-discover what the true meaning of healing is for that individual. Peeling away a persons defenses and coping mechanisms that keep us stuck in dynamics is interconnected to peeling away the layers of imbalances that we find in their body. We all have them and sometimes these dynamics make it hard to heal on an emotional level, which impacts our physical healing.
Previous Education and Hands-On Training:
Elise studied Therapeutic Massage at the Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork, graduating in 1989. While in school, Elise began an informal study of nutrition, meditation, macro-biotic cooking, and using diet and nutrition as a natural means to treat illness. She has studied a wide variety of modalities in the 32 years of her practice, including Esalen Massage, Swedish Massage, Meridian Therapy, N.M.T., M.F.R., Deep-Tissue Massage, Cranio-Sacral Therapy (Milne Institute) Body Mind Centering, Doula, Shamanism and Light Bearers. I went back to school after a serious neck injury and studied Functional Medicine Therapy. Combining all these years of hands-on training and education, I decided to combine everything a develop a method to help my clients learn how to heal themselves. I take the journey with you, but we do it together.
The most profound spiritual studies have been her meditation practice and the study of world religions, specifically Buddhism and Shamanism. In 2001 Elise was ordained as a Shaman and in 2009 Elise took her Bodhisattva vows and was given the name "Fearless Gold Bird." To walk the path of the Bodhisattva means to be in service to others, thus she uses her fearlessness to inspire others to restore themselves to health.
